About Me
A Software Engineering student at Durham University, James Inman has been programming professionally for about 5 years. Beginning his programming career by designing several successful forums, most of whose names he’s probably forgotten by now, James’ portfolio includes nothing anyone would actually recognise (with references available on request anyway), but safe to say it’s left him with an ability to code pretty much anything on the web, given enough music and boarded up windows (they tend to stop the computer flying through them). He knows a bit of all the major web scripting languages, a lot of some others, and is always searching for more, including ones no-one has probably ever even heard of.
When he isn’t coding into the early hours of the morning, James likes to read trashy novels, watch The West Wing and mourn the cancellation of Veronica Mars. James has a hyperactive dog called Ginny (no Harry Potter geekery intended…), and a Macbook Pro that he is rather fond of, despite its nameless state. Don’t get him into a debate about Macs vs PCs, because Macs win. Always.
James is addicted to music, particularly Jack’s Mannequin and Matchbox Twenty, but he’ll listen to anything from country to punk rock to trashy pop music. Please inform him immediately if Something Corporate ever schedule a concert in the rough vicinity of anywhere, because he would really like to attend. During his more serious thoughts, James considers American politics (he’s liberal, but thinks it’s all a bit crazy), despite his status as a Brit, and works to help kids with dyspraxia as a result of his own experiences.
If you would like to chat to James about working with him, please email him or visit Anoveta, his web development site. If you just want to chat to him about non-programming things, please don’t flood his work mailbox (even if no-one does email it, it makes him feel important), and email his personal address instead.
James is always available, even if his blog hasn’t been updated in 7 years. It’s not that he’s overly busy and/or dead. He just never updates.
